A look back with gratitude, a look ahead with optimism to 2018

This has been a busy and exciting year of growth for myself and the studio! Seeds that I planted months to years ago are now coming into fruition. I am so happy to see so many quality teachers who are now my colleagues growing their aspirations right alongside mine. Special acknowledgement for their service and dedication to the Full Circle Yoga Community this year goes to Kristy Cronkrite, Cara Fraser, Yvonne Clapper, Janet Riley, Alyssa Garcia, Lula Cervantes, Kathy Sprout

Mindful moments with trail mix at your desk or anywhere

When I am asked to do public yoga demonstrations, it can be difficult to get around the participants' preconceived ideas of yoga which often center around media images or a couple of classes they took on vacation one summer. In some cases, people are in work attire, even high heels, or a small cubicle-sized room arranged with folding chairs. Yoga is DIY for The Long Road Ahead

We all want a sensible vehicle to take us down the long road to sunny skies with safety and reliability. You could run it like a sports car, but that takes a lot of work that you perhaps don’t have the time for. I won’t assume that you have a phD in engineering, or that you know everything there is to know about maintenance on the car you have. But I’m telling you now that you only get one car— for your whole life. And you didn’t get to choose the make or model either. (Ca

The New Movement is Slow Flow

A good yoga teacher knows how to carefully sequence a yoga class so you feel that all sides of you are properly warmed and stretched. But how does your mind feel when you're done with class? Does your practice sustain you through the day, with steady energy, and a harmonious attitude toward others? If it doesn't, there is much more that yoga can offer you. Yoga teaches us that the tools of posture, breathing, and meditation should be applied to balance the opposites in our co

    Too much empathy? Try compassion.

Parents, doulas, and caretakers share many admirable traits that enable them to act or react to an adversarial condition to assure the safety of their family, spouse, pets, or clients. Empathy is the ability to walk in someone's shoes and feel their experience, but not all emotional connections are healthy, nor happy. So, empaths, or people who are sensitive to being overly empathetic, need to be cautious about how they share their energy so they don't attract negative ener

"For today, I will not worry:" A Reiki prayer & affirmation to relieve stress.

You can manage your stress with a little help and encouragement. Stress is usually a reaction to something that is based on a future event, an unknown. It may be a concern about a reaction from someone else to a situation you are involved in. This uncertainty results in your internal dialogue saying "what if this, or what if that happens". Maybe these thoughts are concerns such as, what if I can’t handle the demands on my time and energy, what if I lose my job, what it my r
