Yoga lessons & Yoga Therapy
Pillars of Practice
Yoga is a path, a journey, and a state of being. Considering the numerous ways to achieve it, I teach three pillars of practice - asana (posture & movement), pranayama (breathing), and dhyana (meditation). I use non-dogmatic, modern language to cultivate trust and positive communication with my clients and students.
For those who are interested in my teaching style, I teach a gentle breath-centered method called hatha vinyasa krama in a viniyoga style inspired by TKV Desikachar. I also use props as necessary for restorative, yin, chair, and hatha yoga.
Your First Private Lesson
Duration: ~75 minutes
Your journey begins with a personalized Yoga Therapy & Assessment of Needs. We’ll discuss your health history, current challenges, and wellness goals. To ensure your practice is safe and effective, I will assess your posture, breathing, and range of motion. From there, I will design a customized yoga therapy sequence tailored to your body and recommend a personalized lesson plan to help you achieve your goals.
What to Bring
Just bring yourself! We provide all the props and equipment you’ll need.
-
What to wear: Comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows you to move freely.
-
Footwear: We practice barefoot, so you'll be asked to remove your shoes before entering the studio.
-
Optional: You are welcome to bring your own mat and a closed-top water bottle.
Follow-up Yoga Lessons
To get the most out of your practice, we recommend scheduling your first follow-up appointment one week after your initial assessment. It typically takes 2–3 follow-up sessions to confidently master your custom sequence for home practice. The more consistent you are, the sooner you’ll experience lasting improvement.
Tip: You are welcome to bring a phone or recording device to capture your customized movements, breathing cues, and prop setups for easy reference at home.
